Kickstarter update – thank you for your support!

Ladies and gentlemen,

We’ve had quite a month.  Our Kickstarter campaign has been brilliant – our target of £3,000 was met within the first 7 days and we’re now standing at just over £4,000.  We have plenty of ways to use the extra funds, and any more we can raise – beating our target will mean we can have another single release or maybe 2 more; we’d like to put on a couple of band shows after the run of theatre shows are done; a tour; and of course, having some extra money in the pot to cover the tail end of mixing and mastering the songs will be helpful too. We hoped, but had no real idea that we would meet our target so fast.

So, with three days left (the Kickstarter campaign ends in the evening on Tuesday 28th August) we are adding some new rewards to our campaign to round up the fun.  At noon on Sunday 26th August we will add 3 more Showtime rewards – this includes a pair of tickets to opening night of our show with Vanishing Point on 21st February 2019, a copy of the new album and more.  This is also nearly your last chance to pick up other rewards such as personalised videos of an ANI song of your choice, our Starlets back catalogue, a house gig, or even just an advance copy of our new album.

Thank you so much if you’ve already supported us – we are so happy – and hope you will be too when you hear what we’ve been making.  Here’s a video we hope you’ll enjoy – this is just what it felt like when we found out we’d reached our Kickstarter target…

Thanks to Matthijs van der Ven of Onder Invloed for the footage – there’s a link to the full, non-giggly version here: http://onderinvloed.com/home/2016/03/a-new-international-sammy-ramses-shaffy/

All the best and thanks again

Our Kickstarter campaign is now LIVE!

Ladies and Gentlemen

As we mentioned in our last post, we are launching a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds towards the pressing and release of our second album The Dark Carnival.

We are delighted to say the campaign is now LIVE and you can visit it here: https://kck.st/2LYzFPC

If you feel able and would like to contribute, there are a selection of rewards on offer for your support, ranging from small contributions, through album pre-orders and ANI merchandise, up to house concerts, personalised videos of your favourite song and tickets for opening night of The Dark Carnival at the Citizens Theatre at Tramway, Glasgow.

We are aiming to raise £3000 in 30 days.  Under Kickstarter’s rules, if we don’t reach our target within 30 days, we will receive nothing.  Not even our bus fare home.  Hahaha.  It’s a cruel world.  But a beautiful one, and worth fighting for.

Here’s our video for the campaign – a sneaky peek behind the wizard’s curtain featuring world premiere of teaser clips of the songs from The Dark Carnival, footage from our recording sessions and photos of our performances of the songs.

Help us bring music back from the dead.

Thank you and good night.

The Life and Times

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We’d like to share with you a video of our song “The Life and Times”, created by our good friend Matthijs van der Ven of Onder Invloed / The Influences.  It features footage of our show with string section and the The GSA Choir which took place on Friday May 6th 2016 at St Luke’s, Glasgow. That night felt like the live culmination of the ‘Come to the Fabulon’ era and a natural end point.  It has been a bit of a journey for us since then but we now know the title of the next chapter.

‘The Dark Carnival’, our second album and soundtrack to a major theatre show by Vanishing Point, will be released on Thursday 21st February 2019 on the opening night of the show at Glasgow’s Citizens Theatre at Tramway.  To get there we would like to ask for your help.  As the Beach Boys sang “You need a mess of help to stand alone”.

Very soon we will be launching a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds towards the release of ‘The Dark Carnival’.  As far as I am aware, there are no fairy godmothers anymore, maybe there never were, so we’re going to throw our own fancy dress ball, and everyone’s invited.

We hope you enjoy the video and thank you to everyone who has supported us so far.

There’s more to come.

See you next week,

ani x

Any joy?

Ladies and Gentlemen, we would like to ask for your help.
We’re making our next video and are seeking submissions of short film clips (10 seconds or so) on the theme of joy, happiness, fun, good times, etc. Taking inspiration from the final scene in Cinema Paradiso, we’re going to make a montage. A montage of joy. Oh aye. It can be anything you like and any quality you like, from phones, home movies to professional cameras.

Please send files of 25MB or less to anewinternationaljoy@gmail.com
Files bigger than 25MB can be sent to this address throughwetransfer.com
Landscape format would be preferable please to fit the wide screen.
Your help would be much appreciated.

Go on, enjoy yersels.x
